Every year, the Foundation sponsors plantation programs in urban wastelands, alongside the roads, and in deforested "wilderness" areas. Additionally, IHRF is engaged in the cultivation of special meditation parks. Many of the trees and herbs are planted especially for their medicinal or ritual value.

On our new land in Veerpur, we are establishing an Organic garden where fresh fruits and vegetables will be grown.

Environmental Clean Up

IHRF – with the cooperation of Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh – has instituted a "Clean, Green and Serene" Program on the banks of Mother Ganga. The project's aim is to clean up the holy banks of our Mother Ganga. Twice a day, trash is removed from the ghats and from the market place and is taken to a dumping site.

Animal Care

IHRF is committed to the preservation and protection of all of God's creatures. For this reason, we have instituted a special Animal Care project. We have a cow home on the premises of Parmarth Niketan where there are approximately 75 cows. In this project, the cows are given food, shelter and are treated by a veterinarian for any diseases. Our goal is to give Gau Mata a safe, healthy environment in which to live and to make the roads clean and safe for drivers and pedestrians

Recent Developments in Ecology: Mansarovar project

In addition to the hospital/clinic and tourist rest house which IHRF has built in Mansarovar, we will also be organizing several ecological programs there, including a Clean, Green and Serene Program in which we will make Lake Mansarovar's waters not only pure, but also immaculately clean. Additionally, we will remove the large quantities of trash which are discarded along the Mt. Kailash parikrama, thereby returning this sacred tirth to its rightful state of pristine cleanliness.
We will also have a tree plantation program there, including the cultivation of special flowers and herbs which have ancient, traditional significance or medicinal value.
