The mother of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram is one of the most prolific spiritual teachers of this century. Her collected works span numerous volumes of writings, speeches, poems, etc. Dr. Jayaswal, a lifelong devotee of Sri Aurbindo and the Mother has adeptly brought 50 years of teaching and thousand of pages of text into one rich volume. Yet, he has lost neither the profound essence of her message, nor the whimsy and joy that pervade her anecdotal details. this is a beautiful and incredible accomplishment.

The teachings are arranged alphabetically, according to subject matte. The Mother focuses on stages of consciousness, on realms of existence, on types of education and on the various forms of yoga. This work is a must-read for anyone interested in Eastern philosophy, education, yoga, consciousness or in how to transcend our mundane, human existence.
